Målgruppe

Practitioners and volunteers (from CISU member organizations and their partners) interested in applying for funding through the new Climate Change Adaptation Modality.

Læringsmål

The aim is to present the new Climate Change Adaptation Funding Modality. This will include an introduction of the requirements and priorities of the CCAM modality as well as the application process. The meeting will also be the kickoff of the consultation process.

Indhold

In accordance with an approved Danish Finance Bill (FL22) and the Danish Government’s priority focus on climate change challenges as part of Denmark’s most recent strategy on development cooperation part of The World We Share, CISU will receive a total of DKK 100 million for 2022-2025.

These funds will be allocated to the new climate change adaptation modality with the first deadline for applications expected in the first part of 2023. The strategic focus of CCAM is twofold: 1) on climate change adaptation with a view to strengthen the ability and efficiency of developing countries and civil society actors to promote climate change adaptation related interests of poor and vulnerable groups. 2) To contribute to the strengthening of local, national and global climate policies and frameworks for planning and information systems in order to build resilience against the effects of climate change.

CISU is currently developing the guidelines for the new modality as well as the corresponding application and reporting formats. In this meeting, these draft documents will be presented and the participant can pose their questions regarding CCAM.

Moreover, the meeting will be the kickoff of the consultation process – where interested parties are welcomed to share their inputs and comments in writing after the meeting.

Baggrundsmateriale

Prior to the meeting, the CCAM draft documents (guidelines, application format, reporting template) will be shared with the participants.

CISU has developed a Climate Integration Tool. The tool presents typical impacts of climate change within various sectors and suggests several activities to promote climate adaptation resilience among climate vulnerable populations.
